ADULT DOCENT PROGRAM
Docents are dedicated volunteers who serve as educators and interpreters throughout the Zoo.
In addition, they provide tours and assist with a variety of educational programs both inside the Zoo and in the local community all year long.

Docents commit to three training sessions and at least four hours of volunteering a month. Must be 19+​​​
Applications are due February 9th, 2025
This program is intended for High School aged teens. Teens will participate in citizen science projects, conservation efforts, learn about wildlife, and hone their public speaking skills.
As a ZCC member, you will take the knowledge and skills that you learn through training sessions to station around the zoo and educate visitors. In addition to talking with the public, ZCC members will also learn about local wildlife and help restore habitats.
Training/conservation projects will take place one Sunday a month from September - May.

SUMMER ZOO CAMP VOLUNTEERS
Zoo camp volunteers will assist the camp counselors with the summer camp program.
They assist in the preparation of daily camp sessions, aid in crafts and activities, and help keep children together and safe while at camp. Zoo Camp volunteers must be 14 (or entering 9th grade in the fall) to 17 years old and must be able to volunteer for at least 2 of the 7 weeks of summer camp.
Volunteer positions are limited.
Please submit your completed Summer Camp Volunteer application to Melissa Czinn, Head of Education, at MCzinn@bergencountynj.gov by May 10th.
